Some Malawian nationals residing in Durban have expressed happiness about returning to their home country. Their departure coincides with increasing anti-immigration protests in various regions of South Africa, which have raised concerns among foreign nationals.

Scores of Malawian nationals gathered near North Beach in Durban as they prepared to return to their home country on Wednesday, according to Sowetan.

According to The Citizen, nearly 60,000 Zimbabweans have returned to their home country in response to an anti-illegal immigration movement. Of these, over 10,000 were repatriated through official government channels, while almost 50,000 opted for self-repatriation methods.
