Mwanza's newly appointed Regional Commissioner, Commissioner of Police Salum Rashid Hamduni, has outlined his immediate priorities for the Tanzanian region, directing authorities to boost revenue collection, improve city cleanliness, and prepare for expected El Niño rains. According to Daily News, Hamduni made the remarks during a handover ceremony at the Regional Commissioner's office, where he emphasized development as central to his agenda for the region.

Tabora District Commissioner Upendo Wella has directed the Tabora Municipal Council to accelerate local revenue collection in order to speed up implementation of development projects across all wards. According to Daily News, she issued the directive while addressing experts, executive officers, councillors, party leaders, institutional representatives and security agencies. Wella noted that although the government continues to channel substantial funds to the council, stronger locally generated revenue is needed to support timely completion of development initiatives in the municipality.
