This initiative was announced during the 32nd National Agricultural Show in Jinja, with the prisons authority stating that the centers will offer location-specific training to farmers.

Preparations for the 2026 Makerere University Marathon are underway, focusing on promoting inclusive education and better learning opportunities for students with disabilities. The event was launched with the theme, "Run the Hills for the Future," and aims to attract 7,500 participants, an increase from 5,000 runners in the previous year, according to Uganda Standard.

During the Women’s Day celebrations in Jinja, Minister for the Presidency, Hon.
