The Imo State Police Command has refuted claims circulating on social media that suspected Fulani herdsmen attacked a student hostel at the Federal Polytechnic Nekede in Owerri, resulting in multiple student fatalities. Police Public Relations Officer DSP Henry Okoye characterized the reports as "entirely false, misleading," and emphasized that no such incident occurred.

In Ogun State, Nigeria, police operatives from the Anti-Kidnapping Unit have killed two suspected kidnappers and recovered ₦2.2 million, which is believed to be proceeds from their criminal activities. This operation is part of a broader manhunt initiated by the police to combat kidnapping in the region, according to Ripples Nigeria.
