The East African Business Council has warned that the East African Community is missing opportunities to expand regional trade, employment and investment because regulatory and administrative barriers are delaying the liberalisation of services. According to the council, services account for about 46 per cent of the bloc's GDP and more than 30 per cent of employment, making the sector critical to growth. The EABC urged EAC member states to remove obstacles and unlock services trade across the region.
