Police in Iganga District, in collaboration with the Uganda People’s Defence Forces Defence Intelligence Security, have arrested six individuals accused of impersonating President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and his daughter, Natasha Karugire. The suspects allegedly operated a criminal syndicate that defrauded members of the public through social media and mobile money schemes.

Kawempe-Kampala Metropolitan Police have arrested a 36-year-old private security company driver, Prosper Turinawe, for unlawful possession of suspected government stores, specifically ammunitions. The arrest occurred on June 21, 2026, following an intelligence-led operation in Kawempe Division. Turinawe, who resides in Kyebando Central, was apprehended based on intelligence reports regarding his activities.

Police patrol officers in Nakawa Division, Kampala District, thwarted an armed robbery attempt, resulting in the death of one suspect during a pursuit operation. The incident occurred around 00:50 hours when a businessman and his wife were ambushed by three armed men while walking along Mukasa Road, according to preliminary reports.

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a suspect named Abdulsalam Adam and recovered two motorcycles that were stolen from a residence in Akuro Phase I, Ogere Remo.
