The National Library of Nigeria issued 89,195 International Standard Book Numbers and registered 272,172 users over a five-year period, according to National Librarian and Chief Executive Officer Prof Chinwe Veronica Anunobi. According to Leadership, 907 tertiary institutions have been enrolled on the platform, with 629 currently active. Nigeria's Minister of Education, Dr Tunji Alausa, has threatened to impose sanctions on contractors and consultants responsible for the National Library of Nigeria project if further delays in its completion occur. The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) and the Digital Bridge Institute (DBI) have announced plans to enhance the institute's role in digital skills development, research, innovation, and policy to support Nigeria's digital economy.
