Tanzania's Rural and Urban Roads Agency (TARURA) has started using advanced technology to conduct detailed soil investigations before building roads, bridges and other infrastructure, following an investment of more than 2bn/- in specialised drilling equipment. According to the Daily News, the technology allows engineers to analyse underground soil and rock layers ahead of construction, enabling them to determine suitable designs and foundation approaches for projects.
