Business leaders, government officials, health experts, development partners and members of the public have launched the fourth edition of Uganda's Corporate Run, a national charity initiative supporting expectant mothers and the fight against preventable maternal deaths. According to Swift Sports, the Corporate Run 2026 aims to raise 5,000 mama kits for health centres across Uganda. The official launch took place on 8 September 2026, with the event itself set to follow at a later date.

The Ugandan Embassy in Ethiopia has initiated a campaign to attract Ethiopian athletes and tourists to the 2026 Tusker Rwenzori Marathon. This effort included a promotional run at Entoto Park, which saw participation from over 500 individuals, including runners, tourism professionals, journalists, and diplomats. This event is part of a larger strategy to promote the marathon and enhance tourism connections between Uganda and Ethiopia.

Preparations for the 2026 Makerere University Marathon are underway, focusing on promoting inclusive education and better learning opportunities for students with disabilities. The event was launched with the theme, "Run the Hills for the Future," and aims to attract 7,500 participants, an increase from 5,000 runners in the previous year, according to Uganda Standard.
