The Tanzanian government, through the Office of the Prime Minister – TAMISEMI, has acknowledged the challenges posed by conflicts between farmers and pastoralists in the Lukuledi River area of Ndanda, particularly during droughts. In response, Deputy Minister Dr. Jafar Seif stated that the government is collaborating with local authorities and security agencies to address these land use conflicts.

The Ministry of Construction, through the Tanzania Roads Agency (TANROADS) in Kigoma Region, has urged residents living near road infrastructure to actively participate in protecting and maintaining these roads to ensure their longevity and safety for users. This message was conveyed by the TANROADS Kigoma Manager, Engineer Elsony.

The Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS) has announced investment opportunities in six major strategic road projects through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) framework. This initiative follows significant legal and policy reforms implemented by the Sixth Phase Government.

According to a report by the Budget Controller, Dr. Margaret Nyakang’o, nine counties in Kenya have spent less than 20% of their development budgets in the first nine months of the 2025/2026 financial year, focusing instead on salaries and other expenditures. Kajiado County recorded the lowest at 9% of its development budget, followed by Lamu at 11%. Other counties with low development spending include Siaya, Uasin Gishu, Baringo, Tana River, Nakuru, Migori, and Mombasa.

Rashid Chuachua, the District Commissioner of Kigoma, emphasized the importance of maritime safety for sailors and transport vessels on Lake Tanganyika, stating it is crucial for the lake to remain a key driver of economic production and development for the Kigoma region and the nation. His remarks were made during a rescue operation exercise involving security forces and the Tanzania Maritime Agency's search and rescue boat.
