Suspected bandits have ambushed and killed three members of the Kaduna State Vigilance Service, including the deputy commander, in Zuntu town, Kubau Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Nigeria. According to a security source who spoke to LEADERSHIP by telephone, the attack occurred on Sunday night while the vigilance personnel were on patrol. The incident adds to ongoing concerns about banditry and insecurity affecting communities in Kaduna State and the wider northwest region.

Sustained attacks by bandits in Danchadi District of Bodinga Local Government Area, Sokoto State, have led to the desertion of over 30 villages.
