The Somali security agency has killed Ahmed Eybka Aalim, also known as Daqare, the leader of the Al-Shabaab terrorist group, along with six other members in Basra Village. They were reportedly involved in deploying explosives intended to instigate terror in the Horn of Africa, according to Tanzania Times.

Troops have arrested two individuals in connection with an attempted attack on the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) that occurred on July 2. The incident involved a gun battle with suspected armed assailants, resulting in the death of one attacker, while others managed to flee into nearby rocky terrain. The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) announced the capture of a rebel stronghold near the Ethiopia border, specifically in the Geissan district. This operation was conducted by the SAF’s 13th Infantry Brigade under the Fourth Infantry Division, targeting areas beyond Abu Dugla and Ashambo, located approximately one kilometre from the border with Ethiopia.
