The Tanzania Telecommunications Company Limited (TTCL) has announced plans to enhance communication services by expanding digital services and investing in modern technologies, aiming to contribute to the growth of the digital economy. TTCL's Director General, Moremi Marwa, attributed recent successes to operational and business improvements that have led to increased revenue and enhanced service delivery.

Tanzania's government says it is strengthening the use of digital technologies, modern port and trade management systems, and scientific data to guide decision-making as part of efforts to advance the country's blue economy. The remarks were made in Dar es Salaam by Hamadi Masauni, Minister of State in the Vice President's Office for Union Affairs and Environment, according to the Daily News.

The Tanzania Tourism Board (TTB) has stated that the 50th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (Sabasaba) serves as an important platform for promoting domestic tourism, showcasing tourist attractions, and preparing stakeholders to benefit from various opportunities, including the upcoming AFCON tournament next year. According to the latest TCRA report, Tanzania's telecom subscriptions reached 111.9 million in the first quarter of 2026, with significant growth in mobile, internet, and mobile money services. 5G population coverage increased to 32.83%, while internet data traffic rose by 15.3% to 932 petabytes. Mobile money accounts reached 80.98 million, internet subscriptions hit 58.9 million, and smartphone penetration rose to 42.5%, indicating a strong demand for broadband and digital financial services.

Tanzania's Universal Communications Service Access Fund (UCSAF) and the Tanzania Broadcasting Corporation (TBC) have signed a performance agreement, according to Michuzi Blog. UCSAF Chief Executive Mulembwa Munaku and TBC Director General Asha Dachi signed the deal on September 7, 2026, at TBC's Mikocheni offices in Dar es Salaam during a visit by the UCSAF chief. The agreement aims to strengthen cooperation and operational relations between the two institutions and establish a framework for joint activities benefiting both organisations and the public.
