His remarks were made during the programme's launch in Abuja, highlighting its significance for regional cooperation in maritime affairs.

President Bola Tinubu has called for West African nations to enhance industrialisation and develop a production-driven economy, emphasizing that the inauguration of the new Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) headquarters in Abuja should motivate a renewed commitment to regional integration, peace, and prosperity. He was represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima at the commissioning ceremony.

African nations are increasingly adopting Nigeria's local content blueprint, with the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) being recognized as the sole agency responsible for local content in the country.
