Sunday Igboho, a Yoruba nation activist, successfully rescued a kidnapped woman from Oyo and her son, with the assistance of private security operatives and police. The operation highlights the ongoing issues of kidnapping in the region.

The Nigeria Police Force successfully rescued a 43-year-old woman and her two-year-old son from a kidnappers’ hideout in a forest in Kwara State following a gun battle with the suspects. This information was shared by Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Aniete Okokon Iniedu, in a statement on Saturday.

About 22 individuals were rescued from armed bandits in the Kwara South Senatorial District following a coordinated operation by Kogi State Joint Security Forces, which included the Military, Police, Hunters, and Vigilante groups. The operation took place in forests along the Kwara-Kogi border, according to a statement from the Kwara South authorities.

Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji visited the recently freed kidnap victims in Ekiti, expressing his joy over their release. He also extended his gratitude to President Tinubu and the security agencies for their efforts in securing the victims' freedom.

A queen from Kwara has shared her harrowing experience regarding the kidnapping of 18 worshippers and the murder of her 14-year-old son by bandits. The kidnappers are reportedly demanding a ransom of N280 million for the release of the worshippers. The queen has made a public plea regarding the situation.

Kidnapped worshippers from a Christ Apostolic Church in Ekiti have been released after several weeks in captivity, according to police reports. Unfortunately, one of the victims died during the ordeal.
