The Ondo State Security Network Agency, known as Amotekun Corps, has arrested four people over an alleged self-kidnapping plot and the spread of false information on social media in Akure North Local Government Area. According to the Daily Trust, the Corps Commander, Adetunji Adeleye, disclosed the arrests on Monday while parading 53 suspects apprehended for various offences across the state.

Abdulafeez Alabi, an operative of the Amotekun Corps, has been arrested following the accidental shooting of a man during an attempt to apprehend two individuals involved in a violent altercation in the Saki area of Oyo state. The incident reportedly took place around 7pm on Thursday, according to police sources cited by Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency publication.

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested 89 drivers for violations related to number plates, aiming to improve security and traceability. Additionally, two suspects linked to robbery have also been apprehended, according to Punch.

Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has directed security agencies operating in the state to stop making arrests at night, warning against the invasion of citizens' homes under the cover of darkness. According to Tribune Online, the governor issued the directive on Monday while addressing first-class traditional rulers at the Banquet Hall of the Government House in Lokoja, the state capital. The order is aimed at curbing nighttime security operations targeting residents in their homes.
