Elektron Energy, a developer and operator of embedded power infrastructure, has unveiled its Victoria Island Power (VIPL) project, a 40-megawatt embedded power network aimed at delivering dedicated and more reliable electricity to businesses in one of Lagos' upscale commercial districts. According to Vanguard, the company presented the project to customers and business leaders at a recent event, marking a step toward improved power supply for the area's commercial sector.

The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) has issued a revised order directing electricity Distribution Companies (DisCos) to dedicate part of their operating revenue to critical network improvement projects. According to the commission, the directive aims to accelerate infrastructure upgrades, improve the reliability of electricity supply, and ensure that available revenues are channelled into essential power network investments across the country.

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) announced the completion of repairs on the Alaoji–Owerri 132kV Transmission Lines 1 and 2, restoring power to parts of Imo, Bayelsa, and Rivers states. The lines were re-energised at 7:05 p.m. and 7:06 p.m. on Wednesday, according to TCN.

Kenya Power and Lighting Company announced planned electricity interruptions across several counties on Tuesday, September 8, citing system maintenance and upgrades. According to Tuko, the outages will affect nine counties, including Mombasa, Nairobi, Nyeri, Homa Bay, and Tharaka Nithi. Residents and businesses in the affected areas are expected to experience power cuts during the scheduled maintenance period.
