Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited (UEDCL) is upgrading the power distribution network in western Uganda to address unreliable electricity, unstable voltage and inefficiencies in moving power from a key regional hydropower plant. According to The Observer, the work spans Isingiro, Ntungamo, Rukungiri and parts of Rwampara, where outages have disrupted businesses. The upgrades are expected to benefit more than 30,000 households and around 700 businesses once completed.
