Kidnapped worshippers from a Christ Apostolic Church in Ekiti have been released after several weeks in captivity, according to police reports. Unfortunately, one of the victims died during the ordeal.

According to Premium Times, a group of church worshippers from Eda Oniyo-Ekiti, who were abducted on April 28 during an open-air crusade by the Christ Apostolic Church, have been freed after 67 days in captivity. The incident involved gunmen invading the event, leading to the abduction of the victims.

Ekiti State Governor Oyebanji visited worshippers who were recently released after being held captive for months. The individuals were abducted in April during an attack by gunmen suspected to be bandits at an open-air revival organized by the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) in Eda-Oniyo, according to Channels TV.

The governor of Ekiti has announced that free medical treatment will be provided for worshippers who were rescued from kidnapping. He urged people to stop politicizing the incident on social media, emphasizing that security challenges should be addressed through collective support rather than partisan interests.
