Kirinyaga Senator Kamau Murango has been ranked as the top-performing senator in the latest Infotrak poll, achieving a score of 69 percent. He was followed by Nyandarua Senator John Methu at 68 percent, and Murang’a Senator Joel Nyutu in third place with 65 percent. Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei and Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot completed the top five with scores of 64 percent and 63 percent, respectively.

Samburu West MP Naisula Lesuuda has been named Kenya's top woman Member of Parliament in the latest Infotrak leadership performance survey, achieving a 73 percent approval rating from her constituents. The survey, released on July 1, 2026, indicates strong public support for her leadership and service delivery, with Aldai MP Marianne Kitany closely following at 72 percent. Kitui West MP Edith Nyenze also ranked among the top performers.

Leonard Yegon, the Member of Parliament for Konoin, has been recognized as the best-performing MP in the South Rift region of Bomet. He received this accolade for his impactful leadership and dedication to education and community development.

According to the County Governments Budget Implementation Review Report, Nandi County achieved the highest development absorption rate in the country at 55 percent. Meru and Wajir counties followed closely with rates of 54 percent each, while Marsabit County recorded a rate of 51 percent. These four counties are the only ones to exceed the 50 percent mark in development spending.

According to a report by the Budget Controller, Dr. Margaret Nyakang’o, nine counties in Kenya have spent less than 20% of their development budgets in the first nine months of the 2025/2026 financial year, focusing instead on salaries and other expenditures. Kajiado County recorded the lowest at 9% of its development budget, followed by Lamu at 11%. Other counties with low development spending include Siaya, Uasin Gishu, Baringo, Tana River, Nakuru, Migori, and Mombasa.
