Taraba Chief Judge, Justice Joel Agya, has expressed support for President Tinubu's initiative to establish state police in Nigeria, highlighting its potential to address the increasing levels of criminality in the country.

The Inspector General of Police (IGP) emphasized the importance of local collaboration for effective policing during the inauguration of a new police headquarters in Jalingo, Taraba. He stated that successful policing relies on the cooperation of local residents, who should provide credible and timely information regarding criminal activities in their communities, alongside the efforts of the police.

The State Police Bill has received international recognition, with a US lawmaker commending Nigerian President Tinubu for the initiative. The lawmaker emphasized that a decentralized policing system would enhance local authorities' ability to address security threats and offer improved protection for vulnerable populations.

Governor Mbah has inaugurated a Centre for DNA Forensics and Investigation, emphasizing his administration's commitment to enhancing security in the state. He stated that there is no longer a safe haven for criminals, as efforts have been made to improve the capacity to preempt and track criminal activities.
