MTN Uganda will open its second MTN ICT Spark Hub at Busitema University on September 15th, according to PC Tech Magazine. The hubs are part of the regional expansion of MTN ACE, a corporate social investment programme funded by the MTN Uganda Foundation and implemented by Cente-Tech. The initiative is aimed at expanding ICT infrastructure and skills development, with Busitema University becoming the latest institution to host a Spark Hub facility.

UNESCO, working with Beijing Normal University and the Tanzanian government, has launched a programme to establish and strengthen ICT clubs in public schools in Dodoma and Morogoro. The initiative aims to equip girls with digital skills, confidence and knowledge to pursue education and careers in technology. It falls under the UNESCO-BNU project "Closing the Digital Divide: Ensuring Gender-Transformative Digital Skills Education for Women and Girls," which seeks to promote gender equality in digital education.
