Uganda is facing a growing cancer burden, with over 37,000 new diagnoses and nearly 28,000 deaths annually, according to recent estimates. Cervical cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths among women, while prostate cancer is the most prevalent among men. This situation is putting significant pressure on patients, families, and the healthcare system.

More than three million improved coffee seedlings have been distributed in Kilimanjaro Region to address the decline in coffee production and enhance farmers' incomes. Deputy Minister for Agriculture David Silinde informed the National Assembly that annual coffee production in the region has decreased from 25,000 tonnes to approximately 4,000 tonnes of clean coffee.
