Gunmen have killed a herder, Yakubu Ishaku, and about 18 cattle in Nyarwai Village, Fan District of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State, Nigeria. According to the herding community, the attack occurred at about 1pm on Wednesday while the herders were tending to their cattle. The state chairman of the herders' association, Ibrahim Yusuf Babayo, confirmed the incident, which adds to ongoing violence affecting communities in Plateau State.

The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) has urged the Federal Government and the governments of Niger and Kebbi States to urgently intervene over alleged attacks and displacement of Fulani pastoralists in parts of the two states.
