According to SABC Business, Chery, a Chinese motor manufacturer, has taken over the Rosslyn plant previously operated by Nissan. This move has been described by Mashatile as a vote of confidence in South Africa's automotive industry.

The JAECOO J5 is set to be included in the primary production lineup at Chery's inaugural manufacturing facility in South Africa.

Deputy President Mashatile officially handed over a factory, originally built by Nissan in 1966, to Chery Group SA. The event highlights the transition of ownership and the potential for future developments in the automotive sector in South Africa.
