Amazon Web Services (AWS) has chosen three Nigerian social enterprises to participate in its fourth cohort of the Social Entrepreneur Accelerator Programme, out of nine selected from Africa. This selection highlights Africa's significant representation in the global initiative, with other participating countries including Kenya, Ghana, South Africa, Cameroon, and Tanzania. The total cohort consists of 42 organizations.

Google has selected 15 AI-focused startups from various African countries including Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, Uganda, Tanzania, Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire, and Angola for its Google for Startups Accelerator Africa program. This initiative emphasizes a transition towards scalable and revenue-generating innovations within the continent's tech ecosystem. The startups, which span sectors such as fintech, mobility, healthtech, agritech, and SaaS, completed a three-month hybrid program.

On June 18, 15 AI-focused startups from various African countries, including Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, Uganda, Tanzania, Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire, and Angola, graduated from the Google for Startups Accelerator Africa programme, which is a three-month hybrid initiative.

Pauline Namwakira, a 23-year-old AWS Authorised Instructor and cloud educator, has been recognized as Kenya’s second recipient of the AWS Golden Jacket. This accolade highlights her contributions to technology education and mentorship in the region.

The AI Everything Kenya × GITEX Kenya summit concluded in Nairobi, focusing on the challenges facing Africa's AI ambitions, including public trust, startup capital, and intellectual property frameworks. The event, which took place at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre, brought together technology executives, government officials, venture investors, and international institutions, attracting over 280 participants.

Google has announced its commitment to enhancing Ghana's digital transformation by investing in digital skills development and local-language artificial intelligence initiatives. This move is part of a broader strategy to support the country's technological growth and improve access to digital resources.
