The Ugandan government has announced the introduction of four new courses at the Presidential Zonal Industrial Skilling Hubs to enhance practical skills among young Ugandans for employment and wealth creation. This initiative was revealed during the opening of a one-week induction training for newly appointed Finance Managers, with a warning from Minister Babalanda against financial mismanagement.

Uganda's Finance Minister Henry Musasizi has introduced a five-pillar strategy aimed at transforming the country's economy into a USD 500 billion entity. During his first management meeting, he emphasized the need for a shift from gradual growth to a more rapid economic expansion, focusing on fiscal discipline and effective management of anticipated resources.

The managers will oversee operations at various Presidential Industrial Hubs established across the country. Babalanda emphasized the importance of integrity and warned against corruption in their roles.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has expressed support for a proposed Regional Farm Service Centre Initiative aimed at tackling issues in Uganda's agricultural sector, particularly the problem of counterfeit agro inputs. This announcement was made during a meeting with a South African delegation led by Mr. Andile Ramaphosa at State Lodge, Nakasero, where a tripartite collaboration involving Namunkekera Farm Service Centre and the National Animal Genetic Resources Centre and Data Bank (NAGRC&DB) was discussed.
