The sixth phase government has launched the Vijana Uchumi Challenge to address youth unemployment by bringing together young people to propose productive ideas that can assist the government in various sectors, including the economy and development. This was announced by Dr. Kedmon Mapana, Deputy Secretary in the Office of the President for Youth Development, during the official launch of a special camp for the selection of 100 top youth candidates.

The government has prioritized the development of students' talents and has recently improved the education system to prepare youth for various skills, including sports.

More than 200 youths from 61 villages surrounding the Sao Hill National Forest in Mufindi, Iringa region, have completed special training to combat forest fire disasters. This initiative aims to strengthen the protection of forest resources and the environment. The training followed a recruitment process involving over 400 youths who underwent physical and mental assessments to qualify for the forest fire response team, ensuring a robust workforce for this effort.

In the 2026/2027 budget, women, youth, and people with special needs in Tanzania will see an increase in loan allocations from 10% to 15%. Mary Chatanda, the Chairperson of the Tanzania Women’s Union and a special seat MP, stated on June 23, 2026, in Dodoma that President Samia Suluhu Hassan is committed to supporting these groups both in words and actions, which is reflected in the budget increase.

The Community Development Fund (TASAF) continues to be a catalyst for change among poor households, particularly women, by enabling them to achieve economic independence. During the Public Service Week celebrations in Dodoma, TASAF's Acting Internal Audit Director, Uswege Edward, highlighted the involvement of beneficiaries in showcasing the successes of TASAF Phase Two implementation.
