The Government of Uganda has obtained €110.5 million (approximately Shs481 billion) from Standard Chartered Bank Uganda to finance the upgrading of the 115.8-kilometre Kitgum-Kidepo road, which is considered a strategic infrastructure project.

Construction of the 12-kilometre Mjanaheri-Ngomeni link road in Magarini Sub-County, Kenya, has reached 50 per cent completion, according to the Kenya News Agency. The Sh600 million project, commissioned by President William Ruto three months ago, is being implemented by the Coast Development Authority. Officials say the road is expected to improve transport and boost economic activity in the coastal area once completed.

Residents in Uganda's Busoga region who use the road from Ambercourt in Jinja through Mbulamuti in Kamuli to Bukungu in Buyende district have expressed frustration over the government's failure to construct the road. According to NTV Uganda, the residents say they have been waiting for the road since 2001 and remain in doubt. Parliament reportedly approved a government loan of 841 billion shillings to fund the road's construction, but work has yet to begin, leaving communities still waiting.

President Bola Tinubu has initiated the construction of the Dikwa–Gamboru Ngala Road, spanning 49.55 kilometers, and the Bama–Banki Road, covering 49.15 kilometers. He emphasized the importance of these highways for economic growth, regional integration, and national security, noting that they are vital for the North-East and serve as gateways to neighboring African countries.

Residents of Bulidha subcounty in Bugiri district say a rice hulling machine built by the Ugandan government in 2003 using public funds broke down in 2007 after about four years of operation and has remained idle for 19 years. According to residents who spoke to NTV Uganda, the machine, located at the Wakawaka landing site, has failed to be repaired due to a dispute between the district leadership and Bulidha subcounty officials, leaving the community without the service it was meant to provide.

President Yoweri Museveni has initiated a crackdown on alleged corruption in the Ministry of Works and Transport, resulting in the suspension of three senior government engineers. The directive also includes instructions for Permanent Secretary Waiswa Bageya to take further action regarding the Busega–Mpigi Road Project, according to Business Times.
