The Kenyan government has announced plans to accelerate construction of the Rironi-Mau Summit Road, with completion and opening targeted for June 2027, ahead of the next General Election. According to Business Today, Roads Cabinet Secretary Davis Chirchir said work on the project would gather pace in the coming weeks, beginning with sections of the road from Rironi. The highway is a major transport corridor in the country.

The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced plans to implement a toll fee on the Ksh 184 billion Rironi–Mau Summit Road project upon its completion. The 233-kilometre road, which will be constructed over two years through a public-private partnership, will charge motorists Ksh 8 per kilometre. KeNHA stated that any future changes to the toll will adhere to the project agreement and necessary government approvals and regulations.

Kenyan President William Ruto has issued a six-month deadline for the completion of the Mombasa Special Economic Zone, according to the Eastleigh Voice. Kabete MP Wamacukuru has inspected ongoing road upgrades along the Kwa Henry–Kamoriani–Githunguri Gia Gichamu stretch in Kabete Constituency. The project, part of the Kabete Constituency Roads Development Programme, aims to enhance rural road links to durable standards. Contractors are currently using grading machines and tippers to rehabilitate the roads, with crews observed shaping the formation and compacting sub-base sections.
