Zanzibar has approved a budget of TZS 8.52 trillion (approximately USD 3.28 billion) for the 2026/27 fiscal year, marking a 22.11% increase. The Tanzania Private Sector Federation (TPSF) and the Confederation of Tanzania Industries (CTI) have expressed support for the business and tax reforms included in Tanzania's 2026/27 Budget, which feature faster VAT refunds, investment incentives, and regulatory simplification. Foreign exchange reserves reached USD 5.7 billion, sufficient to cover 4.4 months of imports.
