Public Health Principal Secretary Mary Muthoni has launched the Women In Healthcare Caucus in Nairobi, Kenya, urging female health workers to pursue government-funded training opportunities. She highlighted the availability of scholarships designed to support the professional development of women in the healthcare sector.

At Uganda Christian University’s 27th Graduation Ceremony, women significantly outnumbered men and achieved the majority of First Class Honours. Makerere University has announced the availability of 40 fully-funded scholarship slots for female students from disadvantaged backgrounds for the 2026/2027 academic year. The Fees Waiver Female Scholarship, which allows selected students to study at Uganda's premier university without tuition costs, was approved by the Makerere University Council in December 2010. Applications are now open for eligible candidates.

Former Makerere University Business School (MUBS) Principal Prof. Waswa Balunywa has been appointed to the National Resistance Movement’s Central Executive Committee (CEC), according to a report by journalist Dickens Okello Honeystraw.
