The Social Health Authority (SHA) has suspended MP Shah Hospital from the government's health insurance scheme for 90 days following numerous complaints from patients who reported being charged for services that should be fully covered by the health insurance fund. In a letter dated June 23, 2026, SHA's CEO Dr. Mercy Mwangangi noted the authority received many complaints regarding the quality of healthcare services provided at the hospital.

Stanbic Bank Tanzania has donated TZS 20 million to support the Medical and Surgical Camps program of the East, Central and Southern Africa Health Community (ECSA-HC). This funding aims to provide free medical and surgical services to communities in need during camps scheduled for July 2026.
