The Investing in Forests and Protected Areas for Climate-Smart Development (IFPA-CD) MAS Project is concluding its two-year operations in Kagadi, Uganda, under the Ministry of Water and Environment. Funded by the World Bank, the project has focused on implementing intensive, mixed-use agroforestry systems and recently distributed ruminant animals to model agroforestry farmers as part of its initiatives.

The Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA) has received the Norman E. Borlaug Medallion from the World Food Prize Foundation, recognizing its two decades of efforts in transforming food systems across Africa. Since its establishment in 2006, AGRA has collaborated with various partners, including governments and NGOs, to enhance agricultural practices and food security on the continent.

At the Financing Agri-Food Systems Sustainably (FINAS 2026) Conference in Nairobi, agroecology advocates emphasized that the future of Kenya's food system depends not only on agricultural production but also on farmers' ability to earn a decent living. They called for increased investment in sustainable agriculture to support this goal.

The National Government has provided five solar-powered milk coolers valued at Sh 30 million to dairy farmers in Cherangany Constituency, Trans Nzoia County. This initiative aims to minimize post-harvest losses and enhance the income of milk producers. The handover event took place at Biribiriet primary school grounds, where Principal Secretary of the State Department for Livestock Development, Jonathan Mueke, spoke about the benefits of the coolers.

The Tanzania Commission for Science and Technology (COSTECH) has launched a climate-resilient livestock project to address challenges in the livestock sector, including rising temperatures, prolonged droughts, and shortages of resources. These issues are impacting livestock productivity, animal welfare, and the livelihoods of livestock keepers in Tanzania.
