The eThekwini municipality has urged individuals to refrain from dropping off foreign employees at a closed repatriation site in Durban. Approximately 700 men, women, and children have gathered outside the former drive-in repatriation centre, seeking government assistance to return to their home countries.

The South African government has stated that it is not providing funding for food for foreign nationals at the Musina Temporary Repatriation Centre, where individuals are awaiting repatriation. According to a Home Affairs official, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) are currently stepping in to offer assistance to these migrants.

According to Matsaung, migrants affected by diarrheal conditions will be directed to the Beitbridge border post and will not be mixed with those currently in Musina. This measure aims to prevent the spread of illness among the migrant population.
