Deputy Minister Moraka met with Iranian Deputy Minister Dr Khatibzadeh to discuss ways to strengthen relations between South Africa and Iran. The discussions are expected to have implications for international relations, according to IOL.

According to Uganda Business News, the ongoing global geoeconomic volatility, influenced by the second Donald Trump presidency and conflicts in the Middle East, has accelerated China's shift in trade and investment strategies in Africa, which began in 2019. This shift, centered in Hunan Province, has led to the development of the "Hunan Model" as a more sustainable alternative to the previous "Angola Model" focused on infrastructure and resource extraction.

During official talks at State House in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania’s President Samia Suluhu Hassan and Namibia’s President Dr. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah pledged to strengthen economic partnerships between their countries. This commitment was made during Dr. Nandi-Ndaitwah's three-day state visit to Tanzania, which began on June 19, 2026.

Tanzania and Namibia signed four cooperation agreements during a state visit by Namibian President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah. The agreements focus on trade, small and medium enterprises, defence, and municipal cooperation. Both countries aim to enhance cooperation across various sectors and strengthen trade and investment links by increasing private sector participation.

Uganda's Finance Minister Henry Musasizi has introduced a five-pillar strategy aimed at transforming the country's economy into a USD 500 billion entity. During his first management meeting, he emphasized the need for a shift from gradual growth to a more rapid economic expansion, focusing on fiscal discipline and effective management of anticipated resources.
