Former Director-General of Nigeria's Department of State Services, Lawal Daura, has explained his decision to leave the African Democratic Congress (ADC), associated with Atiku Abubakar, for the All Progressives Movement (APM), linked to Governor Seyi Makinde. Speaking on Channels Television's Politics Today programme on Monday, Daura said his departure from the ADC was primarily influenced by what he described as a lack of leadership within the party.

Daura, who is associated with the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), has said President Bola Tinubu is beatable in the 2027 election, claiming his government is committing many errors, according to Channels Television. Speaking on why Nigerians should consider the APM presidential ticket, Daura said he and Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde share a similar passion for Nigeria centred on resetting the country. The comments were made ahead of Nigeria's 2027 general election.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has praised Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal as a "Renaissance governor" who has brought positive changes to the state. In a birthday message marking Lawal's 61st birthday, Tinubu commended his administration's efforts in infrastructure, urban renewal and industrialisation, according to a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information. The message highlighted the president's recognition of the governor's performance in office.

Governor Dauda Lawal has approved the payment of allowances and stipends to National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members serving in Zamfara state, according to Vanguard News.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) criticized Bola Tinubu's administration for what it termed "grave insensitivity" following comments made by Presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga, who reportedly stated he does not perceive the hunger and hardship expressed by Nigerians. The ADC urged political figures Atiku Abubakar and Rotimi Amaechi to remain vigilant in protecting the electoral process.

According to Daily Trust, Alhaji Mohammed Danjuma, popularly known as Garkuwa Babba, has left the African Democratic Congress for the All Progressives Congress ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 elections. He previously sought the ADC ticket for the Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency House of Representatives seat and served as National Chairman of the ADC House of Representatives Aspirants Forum in Gombe State.
