Three newly promoted Uganda Premier League teams, Blacks Power, Ntugasaze FC, and Entebbe UPPC, are competing to sign Young Elephants midfielder Francis Mukasa. UPDF FC, a team in the Uganda Premier League, has approved an annual budget of Ug.Shs 3.8 billion for the 2026/2027 season during their Annual meeting held at Ndere Cultural Centre in Kampala. The budget will support both the men's and women's teams of UPDF FC.

Lugazi FC is reportedly in advanced discussions to hire Bastu Ssemuyaba, a former assistant coach at URA FC, to enhance their coaching staff. Ssemuyaba is expected to serve as an assistant to Abbey Kikomeko for the upcoming 2026/27 season, following Kikomeko's appointment after Simon Peter's departure.
