Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika has launched the Affordable Boda Boda Programme, which allows riders to acquire motorbikes with initial deposits starting at KSh 10,000. The program is set to begin in September, aiming to support boda boda riders in accessing affordable transportation options.

The government has issued a warning to boda boda operators against being used by politicians and criminals to engage in violence, intimidation, and disruption of public order. Officials stated that those participating in such activities will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. This announcement was made during a consultative meeting with boda boda operators and sector leaders in Vihiga.

Khwisero MP Christopher Aseka has raised concerns about the increasing neglect of marriages in Khwisero due to men's preference for alcohol. He urged families to focus on stability and address the issue of illicit brewing, which is threatening the integrity of marriages in the area.
