Khwisero MP Christopher Aseka has committed to advocating for the welfare of boda boda operators by supporting initiatives to enhance their livelihoods. This pledge was made during a consultative meeting with riders from various markets including Manyulia, Bama, Doho Junction, Ombwara Junction, and Emutsasa. Aseka emphasized the importance of the boda boda sector as a significant pillar of the local economy.

Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika has launched the Affordable Boda Boda Programme, which allows riders to acquire motorbikes with initial deposits starting at KSh 10,000. The program is set to begin in September, aiming to support boda boda riders in accessing affordable transportation options.

Deputy President Kindiki emphasized the importance of cooperatives in driving Kenya's economic transformation, highlighting that approximately 14 million Kenyans are members of such organizations. This includes 8 million individuals who are part of Savings and Credit Cooperative Organisations (SACCOs), which together manage savings exceeding Sh1 trillion.

The government has issued a warning to boda boda operators against being used by politicians and criminals to engage in violence, intimidation, and disruption of public order. Officials stated that those participating in such activities will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. This announcement was made during a consultative meeting with boda boda operators and sector leaders in Vihiga.

The Kenyan government is working to modernize the cooperative movement through a new cooperative bill and increased public investment. This initiative aims to strengthen governance, protect members' savings, and enhance the sector's contribution to economic growth. Deputy President Prof. Kithure Kindiki stated that the Cooperative Bill, which is currently under consideration in Parliament, represents a significant reform effort.

Mombasa Governor Abdulswamad Nassir has urged education leaders to enhance support systems for students to address extreme behavior and foster a safer school environment. His remarks were made during the 49th Annual National Conference of the Kenya Secondary School Heads Association (KESSHA) in Mombasa, where he called on Members of Parliament and other stakeholders to prioritize student welfare, mental health, and discipline.
