Tanzania's sixth-phase government has strengthened the Tanzania Institute of Accountancy (TIA) by expanding academic capacity and improving infrastructure, according to Michuzi Blog. The government helped the institution secure nine professors and funded 78 staff members to pursue PhD degrees locally and abroad; 48 have completed their studies while 30 continue. The initiative, which includes an investment of 67.9 billion shillings, aims to boost TIA's ability to deliver education, conduct research, and produce knowledge.

Victoria University Vice Chancellor Dr. Lawrence Muganga has praised Professor Badru Dungu Kateregga, the founding Vice Chancellor and proprietor of Kampala University, calling him a "true giant" of Uganda's education sector. According to Watchdog Uganda, Muganga made the remarks in a post shared on X on Tuesday, where he expressed his honor at spending time with the veteran educator and recognized his contributions to higher education in the country.

The government is intensifying efforts to prevent new HIV infections in universities by purchasing and installing protective service machines and JIPIME testing kits through a Digital Supply Chain. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to address HIV transmission among students, according to Habari Leo.
