Busitema University has sent a 15-member team to represent the institution at the 12th Federation of African University Sports (FASU) Games in Cairo, Egypt. According to Kawowo Sports, the Games run from 8th to 16th September 2026, with the Ugandan university's delegation set to compete in the continental university sports event, reflecting what the outlet describes as the institution's growing sporting talent on the African stage.

The group stage draw for the 2026 Inter Islamic Secondary Schools Association of Uganda (ISSAU) Games took place on June 24th at TopTimes High School in Kyengera. The draw was presided over by Hamidu Ddumba, the head teacher of TopTimes High School and Chairperson of the ISSAU Sports Committee.

Uganda Athletics has announced a team of 17 athletes and four officials to represent the country at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, scheduled for July 23 to August 1. The team will be led by Peruth Chemutai, the 2020 Olympic champion in the women's 3000m steeplechase.
