He addressed public concerns regarding reported disappearances and illegal detentions, as well as the trial of opposition figure Kizza Besigye, asserting that the government will not retreat in its security efforts.

Opposition politician Dr Kizza Besigye and co-accused Hajj Obeid Lutale have informed the High Court in Kampala that they will continue to be represented by their chosen legal team, which includes Kenyan Senior Counsel Martha Karua and former Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago. They rejected any proposals to accept alternative lawyers, maintaining their stance on their preferred defense.
