On July 4, 2026, the Kampala Hash House Harriers (KH3) will host the annual 'KH3 Kampala Jinja Relay,' also known as the 'Ultimate Beerful Relay,' supported by Tusker Lite. The event will begin at 6 am from the Kira Town Council roundabout and is expected to feature approximately 600 runners competing in 30 teams over a distance of 96 kilometers.

The Ministry of Health (MOH) is set to commemorate World Sickle Cell Day in Jinja, while children in Busoga suffering from the hereditary blood disorder face challenges due to shortages of hydroxyurea, a critical medication for alleviating pain and complications. Hydroxyurea was recently included in the essential medicines list, according to reports.
