The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has summoned MP Zaheer Jhanda in connection with the attack on the Linda Mwananchi convoy in Kisii-Keroka. Following the incident, police have arrested seven suspects as the investigation into the attack continues, according to KBC.

Three individuals have been arrested following an attack on Linda Mwananchi's convoy in Kisii. The National Police Service reported that detectives are currently reviewing video footage and conducting broader investigations to identify additional suspects involved in the incident.

The Linda Mwananchi movement has postponed its rallies in Kisii and Keroka originally set for June 26, 2026, to show solidarity with victims of the 2024 Gen-Z protests and their families during commemoration activities. The movement announced that the rallies will now take place on July 3, 2026, and called on the public to observe the anniversary with goodwill.

Murang’a Governor Irungu Kang’ata confirmed his affiliation with the Linda Mwananchi movement, stating that he joined to create a platform uniting Kenyans from diverse political backgrounds around a shared national agenda. In an interview on Citizen TV’s JKLive, he emphasized that his decision was driven by the desires of ordinary Kenyans rather than personal ambition, describing the movement as an inclusive space in Kenyan politics.

Jubilee presidential aspirant Fred Matiang’i recently met with the Linda Mwananchi team, which includes notable political figures such as Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, Kisii Senator Richard Onyonka, and Siaya Governor James Orengo. This meeting has led to speculation about potential political realignments between the United Alternative Government and Linda Mwananchi as the 2027 general election approaches. Matiang’i shared photos from the meeting on his X account but did not disclose the topics discussed.
