This call comes in light of recent developments regarding financial incentives in the league.

The Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) champions for the 2026/2027 season will be awarded a minimum prize money of ₦1 billion, marking it as the highest financial reward in Nigerian domestic football, according to Vanguard Sports.
