The NMB Bank was awarded a prize for being a significant contributor to government revenue after handing over Sh96.9 billion to the government, recognizing its role in enhancing national income and supporting development projects. The award was presented by President Samia Suluhu Hassan during a ceremony at the State House in Dar es Salaam on June 30, 2026. NMB was represented by its Board Chairman, CPA David Carol Nchimbi, and CEO Ruth Zaipuna.

During official talks at State House in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania’s President Samia Suluhu Hassan and Namibia’s President Dr. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah pledged to strengthen economic partnerships between their countries. This commitment was made during Dr. Nandi-Ndaitwah's three-day state visit to Tanzania, which began on June 19, 2026.
