According to the Social Justice Centre Working Group (SJCWG), Kenyans are being urged to participate in the Saba Saba march to honor victims of alleged abductions and killings. The event aims to remember those who have lost their lives or gone missing and to advocate for independent investigations into these cases.

The National Police Service (NPS) of Kenya has refuted claims that its officers are involved in a series of abductions, asserting that it does not participate in enforced disappearances. The NPS emphasized that no missing persons are currently being held in their custody, addressing the allegations made against them.

Since the 2024 general elections in Mozambique, numerous opposition members and journalists have reportedly been abducted or killed. Investigations into these incidents have been largely ineffective, with exclusive reporting indicating that individuals associated with the ruling party Frelimo and Mozambican security forces may be involved in targeting government critics, according to The Elephant.
