The Kenyan Cabinet has approved the country's accession to two international treaties aimed at combating the recruitment of Kenyans as mercenaries abroad and enhancing efforts against human trafficking. This decision allows Kenya to join the 1989 United Nations Convention Against the Recruitment, Use, Financing and Training of Mercenaries and the 1977 OAU Convention for the Elimination of Mercenarism in Africa. Additionally, the government plans to amend the Counter-Trafficking in Persons Act and other relevant laws.
