Hon. Ibrahim El-Hassan Kwami, a former Gombe State Commissioner of Information and Culture, has passed away in Gombe after a brief illness. He died on Saturday and was buried following a funeral prayer at the Gombe Emir’s Palace Jumu’at Mosque. Kwami served in his role from November 2019 to March 2023.

Dr. Aniekan Umana, the Commissioner for Information in Akwa Ibom State, has denied claims made in a police press release that a vigilante guard assigned to him was arrested with a toy AK-47 gun. The statement was issued by DSP Timfon John, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Akwa Ibom State Command.
