Health communication is more effective when conveyed in local languages, as people are more likely to understand and trust information presented in their everyday language. In Africa and many low-resource settings, many individuals have limited proficiency in official languages like English, French, or Portuguese, which can lead to ineffective health messaging when only these languages are used.
